The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of General Duty (GD) Constables in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)/Central Police Organizations (CPOs) and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR). A total of 84,866 vacancies are available.
Important Dates:
- Application Submission Starts: 15th November 2023
- Application Submission Ends: 14th December 2023
- Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Measurement Test (MT): 12th to 15th March 2024
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 24th April to 12th May 2024
- Document Verification: 20th to 27th June 2024
- Final Result: 15th July 2024
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- 10th Class pass from a recognized Board of Education.
Age:
- 18 years and above. The upper age limit is 25 years.
Physical Standard:
Height:
- Male candidates: 170 cm
- Female candidates: 157 cm
Chest:
- Male candidates: 83 cm with an expansion of 5 cm
- Female candidates: 77 cm
Physical Fitness Test (PET):
- Male candidates:
- 100 meters race in 16 seconds
- Long Jump – 2.10 meters
- Shot Put – 2.75 meters
- Female candidates:
- 100 meters race in 18 seconds
- Long Jump – 1.80 meters
- Shot Put – 2.50 meters
Nationality:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or have a valid Tibetan refugee certificate.
Selection Process:
The selection process for SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2024 will consist of the following:
- Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Measurement Test (MT):
- Candidates will be required to clear a PET and MT. The PET will consist of a 100-meter race, long jump, and shot put. The MT will include height, chest, and weight checks.
- Computer Based Test (CBT):
- Candidates who clear the PET and MT will be shortlisted for a CBT. The CBT will consist of a General Knowledge, Mathematics, English Language, and Hindi Language test.
- Document Verification:
- Candidates who qualify the CBT will be called for document verification.
- Final Result:
- The final result will be based on the performance of the candidates in the CBT and document verification.

Candidates can apply online through the SSC website. The application fee is Rs. 100/- for General/OBC/EWS candidates and Rs. 50/- for SC/ST candidates.
